Last weekend our team attended WordCamp Europe in Berlin. It was a tremendous success and the biggest WordCamp in history, with over 3200 registrations.
It was held at the Estrel Hotel and Convention center, which turned out to be an ideal venue with plenty of networking spots and very nice halls for the tracks.
As in previous years, live streaming was available for those who couldn’t make it.
Apart from networking opportunities and a variety of talks, we also had the best WordCamp after party yet, and we can say this having attended all WordCamp Europe conferences thus far. Hopefully the following years will keep this level of excellence.
Matt’s talk focused on the latest Gutenberg improvements, as the whole WordPress team doubles down on this new feature of WordPress that they hope will be able to bridge the usability gap that currently exists when we compare WordPress to the likes of Wix and Squarespace.
Next year, WordCamp Europe will be held at another fabulous destination: Porto. We love Portugal and will be looking forward to spending some time there next year.
Thanks to all those who made this WordCamp possible, and thanks for the lovely conversations had over the past few days. You can check out some photos from our trip on WP Mayor’s Twitter account.
See you all in Porto!
