Connecting to Your Customers Using the CallPage Widget

Wouldn’t it be great if you could give your online customers the opportunity to reach out to you directly by phone?

Well, with the premium CallPage widget for WordPress websites you can! Boasting a 75% increase in calls from potential customers, CallPage is ideal for any size company that accepts phone calls.

Today we will take a look at what the CallPage widget has to offer you and your company and how easy it is to encourage your website visitors to chat with you.

What is CallPage?

Analyzing 9 behavior patterns of site visitors, the CallPage widget determines which visitors might be interested in contacting your company directly for more information.

When a visitor exhibits user behavior the widget feels is in line with a phone call prompt, it will display a button that once clicked will display a pop-up form where your potential customer can request a callback.

The widget then connects the interested customer to your company via telephone phone within 28 seconds.

CallPage’s Main Features

Though a relatively simple to use widget, CallPage comes with some pretty fantastic features for helping you convert website visitors into loyal customers.

What if a customer contacts a Manager with a question they simply cannot answer? Any call that you make to your site visitor can be recorded for future reference. Using the recorded conversation the Manager can easily relay the issue to someone capable of helping the potential customer.

Each CallPage widget pop-up you create comes with 8 free templates to choose from displaying different messages:

  • Receive a Call
  • Call Result
  • Zero Screen
  • Leave Email
  • No Answer
  • Schedule a Call
  • Unpaid
  • Button

Since being mobile friendly is a serious thing for all websites, CallPage offers a mobile view of each widget created to assure you that small devices will still render the callback pop-up form correctly.

CallPage also makes sure your team members are fully notified of every call. For instance, you can enable a free SMS message to be sent to each Manager regarding missed or connected calls with information about the site visitor on each. You can also enable daily email reports to be sent to appropriate team members.

Callpage SMS Notifications

In addition to this, you can have a free SMS notification sent to your site visitors after a connection call has been made. Thanking the customer and providing the Manager’s contact information for any further questions or concerns is an added bonus to your sales conversion efforts.

CallPage also offers a number of other really important features:

  • Custom system integration
  • Detailed reports and stats
  • Night mode
  • Call control with CRM system
  • Dialing options
  • Widget branding
  • Department specific calls
  • Worldwide connection
  • Company number as caller id
  • Change response time
  • Phone and IP address blacklist ability

It is important to note here that CallPage also offers this callback widget in a free version easily found in the WordPress Repository. While it offers most of the same basic features, the free plugin does not callback customers within 28 seconds. Rather, a customer submits his phone number, you receive an SMS notification, and then a callback can be made.

Though this may create a slightly lower conversion rate than the automatic connection the premium plugin provides, this free option is budget friendly and still provides a great way to connect with your site visitors.

Using CallPage

In order to get a feel for the entire callback process, I created my own CallPage widget and accepted a callback request.

Step 1: Install the Plugin

Install the CallPage plugin how you would install any other WordPress plugin.

From there you must set up an account on CallPage’s official website to access the dashboard associated with the plugin.

Step 2: Create a Callback Widget

Upon signing in to your CallPage account you will immediately be presented with the default code of a callback pop-up form. But where is the fun in that? Here are the steps you must follow to design your own callback widget:

General Settings

Here you will designate your website’s URL, add your company’s name, choose from 12 default languages, enable SMS and email notifications, and add your contact information.

Managers

This section is where you will set up your company’s phone operators or ‘Managers’. Assign each Manager an ID, make them available as a Manager, include a name and photo, add the company phone number, and designate time zones and individual working hours. You can even assign each Manager a specific department if this is suitable for the type of website you operate.

Customize

Pick from 5 color schemes to change your widget’s colors, choose the callback button position that will prompt the pop-up, and check both the desktop and mobile views.

Callpage Customize

Text

This is where you can customize the text your callback widget will display so that it suits your brand.

Advanced

For full customization of your widget, check out the advanced section for things such as:

  • Widget Settings – Enable the automatic language detector, hide your widget after working hours, declare pop-up modes, and enable sound effects.
  • View Settings – Show call statistics, working operators, the tooltip, and whether to display country flags.
  • Call Settings – Enable simultaneous manager calls, response time, custom caller id, and call recording ability.
  • SMS settings – Choose to have your company name seen on all SMS notifications.

Get Code

After you have created your widget, get the code and insert it onto your website’s posts or pages.

Step 3: Await a Callback Request

I set up a mock callback request to get a feel for what it would be like if a site visitor requested a callback. When my interested visitor filled out the pop-up form with his contact information my phone received a call from CallPage informing me via recording that a callback request had been made.

My phone then proceeded to call the visitor and connect us within the projected 28 seconds. Shortly after our “conversation” I also received my SMS message with the visitor’s contact information should I need to make an additional call.

Step 4: Check Your Analytics

In the instance you have multiple Managers working for you it can be useful to monitor CallPage’s convenient Analytics section for site visitors, pop-up opens, calls, and conversions.

If you need more detailed information, you can also access your website’s call history via the CallPage Dashboard:

Documentation and Support

The creators of CallPage have provided some documentation to get you started with their widget. However, with only a basic FAQ section and a blog area with no posts as of yet, I suppose it is lucky the widget is pretty easy to use.

Their support is a step up from their lack of documentation. From the CallPage Dashboard they too make use of their plugin by providing their customers a way to request a callback.

They also have a CallPage Team chat area though after attempting to clarify what hours the chat was available, I ended with no response despite the chat area mentioning activity had been seen by the CallPage Team within 15 minutes of my question. I am expecting a response to my question via the Dashboard and by email.

Pricing

Using the premium CallPage widget will only cost you when you make solid connections with site visitors. This means each connection with a customer must last 5 seconds or more to be considered billable. In addition, it is understood that you must pay per 5 minute blocks of time.

That being said, here is the breakdown of the cost for using the premium CallPage widget:

Conclusion and Recommendations

In the end this premium WordPress widget is quite impressive to me. With a little bit of trial and error I was able to create a cool pop-up form to display to my website visitors and successfully connect a call with a potential customer.

Providing your customers such a convenient and quick way to get in contact with someone from your company is a smart idea. People love being able to have their questions or concerns answered right away and they also want purchase to be processed easily. CallPage offers all of that in a user friendly and quite intuitive way.

If you are a website owner that can accept phone calls from those interested in what you have to offer I would highly recommend giving CallPage a try.

Have you ever used CallPage to connect with you website visitors in a more direct and convenient way? I would love to hear all about it in the comments below!
