wpDataTables makes table and chart building, and the associated data management tasks required to build them, an easy task. This best-selling, easy to learn and use WordPress plugin, is already in use by more than 12,000 companies.
These companies, together with other wpDataTables users, work with many different types of data, e.g., scientific, financial, statistical, etc.; all of which are easily managed and displayed using this powerful WordPress plugin.
With wpDataTables, you can create charts and tables based on complex data and/or large amounts of data; mostly by clicking. No coding is necessary, and you can combine various wpDataTables features to create tables and charts that are unique to your specific needs.
Two new add-ons have been created by TMS, wpDataTables’ developers. These add-ons enable you to use Gravity Forms and Formidable Forms entries as data sources for the tables and charts you create using wpDataTables.
Add-on Features: Gravity Forms and Formidable Forms
There are currently more than one million up-and-running WP sites that rely on Gravity Forms as a data source. It is, in fact, one of the top contact form plugins for WP-powered websites. Formidable Forms is another powerful WP plugin that is widely used in data-driven web applications.
Features of these two plugins have been incorporated into the new wpDataTables add-ons, giving you the ability to:
- Choose the fields you wish to display as columns, using the Table Creation wizard
- Display metadata, including date and time, and user ID and IP address information
- Organize how you wish to display records; all records, a segment of records, records of a given period of time (e.g., the last two weeks). The output is totally configurable.
- Toggle deleted entries, to define which of them you want to include
You can still use any or all of the other wpDataTables’ features to make your tables responsive, to render charts, or add or edit columns.
Gravity Forms – wpDataTables Integration
Once you’ve installed and activated the Gravity Forms add-on to your wpDataTables plugin, “Gravity Form” will appear as a data source. You can now go to the page that allows you to select existing data sources to begin creating a table.
First, however, you’ll need to prepare a Gravity Form. It must contain at least one entry.
Then, you can select “Gravity Form” as your input data source type, choose your form, and proceed.
The next step will be to choose the fields you want to display as columns. There are two types of fields; form fields, that were added when creating the Gravity Form, and common fields, that contain default metadata information – entry date, ID, user, etc.
You don’t need to choose all the fields, only those you intend to add to the table.
The Table Configuration page contains settings for each new table, and it will include a Gravity settings tab when the table you create is based on a Gravity Form data source.
Formidable Forms – wpDataTables Integration
The process for creating tables using Formidable Forms data entries is the same as that used for the Gravity Forms plugin and add-on.
The only difference is that, upon installation and activation, the data source type integrated into your wpDataTables plugin will be “Formidable Form”.
As before, you’ll create a table linked to an existing data source type, in this case, “Formidable Form”.
Once you’ve set up your Gravity Forms- or Formidable Forms-based tables, you can insert them into your page or post.
Conclusion
wpDataTables is a powerful table and chart building WordPress plugin. It is easy to learn and use, and with it, you can create dynamic, responsive, and editable tables and charts for your website.
Since its initial launch, wpDataTables has undergone continual refinement and improvement, including the addition of new features. The two newest are the Gravity Forms and Formidable Forms add-ons, eliminating the need to purchase and install the respective plugins.
As before, with wpDataTables, you can quickly and easily complete your chart -or table-building tasks; saving you countless hours, and eliminating the headaches resulting from banging your head against the table out of pure frustration. Tasks that once took long hours, can now be completed in minutes, or even seconds, and provide you with flawless results in the process.
