Supplement Your Existing Content with WP RSS Aggregator

Writing great content for your website isn’t as easy as it sounds.

In order to successfully build a thriving web presence for your business or blog, you’ll have to put in a lot of regular time and effort into content creation. Ultimately, content is what helps your website rank better in search engine results and bring in more traffic.

Although original content will, undoubtedly, rank better from an SEO perspective, importing content from high-authority sites through RSS will also help bring in traffic. By aggregating useful, related articles on your website, you’ll be able to supplement your site’s existing content and deliver more value to your viewership. With this in mind, I’ll show you how you can supplement your existing content with the WP RSS Aggregator plugin.

Let’s take a look at WP RSS Aggregator before we begin.

Why WP RSS Aggregator

WP RSS Aggregator is the most popular RSS feed importer in the WordPress space. This incredibly powerful tool enables webmasters to import both RSS and Atom feeds taken from different sources and display them on your website.

Instead of manually importing posts from different websites, with WP RSS Aggregator, you can set up this plugin on your website, sit back, and relax while your website is populated with related content.

The WP RSS Aggregator core plugin is available free for download. It enables users to aggregate an unlimited number of feeds of multiple sources. And when it’s time to take things up a notch, you can purchase its premium add-ons to enhance the plugin’s core functionality.

Content for Your Website

Quality content ensures that your site’s average session duration will go up implying that viewers are staying on your website longer. Delivering quality content, however, is far more difficult that it sounds. Luckily, it’s one of those things that has a workable, fool-proof shortcut. Instead of spending countless ours writing blog posts that drive user engagement and have the potential to attract readers, why not import posts to supplement your existing content?

Does RSS Affect SEO?

Supplementing your site’s content with RSS feeds has both a positive and negative impact on its SEO ranking. The relevant, imported content increases keyword visibility in your blog post which boosts its ranking in search engine results. In addition to this, search engines also factor when the article was published into their algorithm. If you’re importing a blog post that was published, say a week ago, your site will rank better in the results. However, since you’re publishing content that isn’t 100% unique, your site will experience some negative SEO ranking, as well.

RSS and SEO

RSS and SEO

In a nutshell, RSS feeds do in fact help your site rank better in search engines albeit in a less direct way than original content would. This also ensures that the content you’re importing isn’t static – that it keeps updating. Automatically importing fresh content on your website ensures that your site won’t fall behind in SEO. With WP RSS Aggregator’s Feed to Post add-on, you can set up a canonical link which allows you to notify search engines about the original source of the content.
